You’ve just found out you are expecting and are starting to think about what you need to organise. You love all those newborn photos you see on social media, but I don’t imagine that booking your baby photographer is at the forefront of your mind. But please don’t leave it till the last minute as many good specialist baby photographers get booked up early.

I never had professional newborn baby photos of my beautiful girls taken and it is something that I deeply regret. Had I known then what I do now I would have been super organised. I would have researched for an experienced baby photographer in my area.

The best time for newborn photos is within the first couple of weeks. This is because babies spend most of their time sleeping and are still very flexible and bendy from being in the womb and the birth process. It is these qualities that help to create the squishy newborn baby pictures that everyone adores.

Comfort

My studio is located near a golf course, in Srensall, an easily accessible location from York, Leeds, Malton, Harrogate and the surrounding towns. It is beautiful and spacious to accommodate all types of sessions. I have a lovely cosy sofa in the studio that allows for a relaxed homely atmosphere. Many of my customers fall in love when they step inside and discover my wonderful studio. The space allows me to have a range of wonderful props, blankets, headbands and outfits available for you to choose from when we style your newborn session. There are tea and coffee making facilities and snacks to nibble on during the session.

Safety

The safety of your precious newborn baby is paramount. With this in mind, I have undertaken extensive newborn photography training throughout my years in business. I am also a member of BANPAS (Baby and Newborn Photography Association).

My studio is often too warm for a fully clothed adult to ensure your baby's comfort. It is important that the room remains at an optimum temperature for a lightly clothed sleepy newborn. Temperature is always around the 28 – 30° degree mark. I closely monitor your newborn baby to ensure they do not get too hot or too cold.

As I am a member of The Guild of Photographers, The National Photographic Society and Society of Photographers. These associations offer ongoing training and support.

Viewing and Ordering

Part of the service that I offer is to invite you back within 2 weeks after your session to view your gallery at the studio. We show you your images as a slideshow on a calibrated screen. Viewing your newborn baby photo collection in the studio also means that I am on hand to offer advice and guidance about what products and wall art will look great in your home.

It is worth measuring spaces that you hope to fill prior to your viewing and ordering appointment. It will help you choose the best wall art for your home during this appointment.

For example, this image of a baby and his older brothers and parents will be displayed in a living room. Mum particularly wanted a rustic feel so we selected the wooden backdrop. I offer prints, canvases, wooden blocks and a range of other products to give you great choice. You can of course also opt to purchase the digital files. However, I love to see your images on proud display in your home and the professional printing services that I access will ensure only the highest quality products for a lifetime of memories.

Ongoing Service

I love that many clients return time and time again and I get to watch your families grow. I offer sitter sessions (around 6 – 9 months)for babies who can sit unaided. First birthday cake smash photoshoots to capture your baby's next milestone. Family portraits, wonderful fine art Maternity Photography and a range of mini sessions and themed photoshoots throughout the year.
