When I first found out in January that my friends are expecting their first baby I got very excited for them and for me as well! 😉 I was so happy for them, they were waiting for this blessing so long. Obviously, there was no question of booking them in for a maternity and a newborn session straight away.

So when May came and Hannah's baby bump started showing nicely we arranged the maternity session for her. She was very shy and unsure at the beginning, but I reassured her that she is absolutely gorgeous (which was 100% true!) and we've created some unbelievably stunning images by the end of the session. I get this a lot, the mum-to-bes are often nervous, they maybe have never had a photo session before or not for a long time, but with me you are in safe hands, all you need to do is - RELAX!

As we went along, the dad to be, Ricky joined in for the couple shots of course. I always recommend these set ups to expecting parents, as they are capturing the love and dedication to each other at such an amazing period of their lives. A maternity session is the last time to capture just the two of you before baby arrives and embrace all those butterflies about being new parents!

I should say that I couldn't wait to edit their photos! I love maternity sessions and I love that I get to photograph such a special time in your life and photograph a little human inside of you! Every maternity session I photograph, during the session I stop to think about how miraculous pregnancy is and what a remarkable human being this baby will be! I love that we get to meet before our newborn session. Maternity sessions are very relaxed and we can go at our own pace (much easier photographing adults), so we have time to chat and get to know each other prior to your newborn session! We can talk about what you would like for the newborn session and you will feel more at ease with me for our newborn session.

So, there came Hannah's due date (28th June) and went. He didn't want to come out from his comfortable safe place for a week! I got very excited when I found out that baby Frankie William had finally arrived, safe and sound and can't wait for his very first photo session! When the day came I was fully prepared and very excited to meet him. The session was hard work but absolutely worth it! I even managed to capture a special photo as a surprise for his dad (he is a car mechanic).
